How did you develop an interest in fashion?

I’ve always loved fashion since I was a child. I remember when my mom would take fashion magazines, leaf through them and then go into her wardrobe secretly and try to imitate the looks of the models in the magazine. Then over time I realized that it was part of me and I embarked on this path as a young man, first as a model and then by posting on social media, my following grew and motivated me to look for my path, my fashion identity and so I created womanpower. My blog, I took many business management courses aimed at developing my ideas and after a month it already had millions of accesses from users from all over the world and so I continued. Thanks to my blog I land in fashion and luxury.

What were you doing before you became a fashion blogger?

Before becoming a fashion blogger I was a professional basketball player, at the age of 14 I left home to move to Rome to pursue my dream: to wear the Italian national team shirt. I played in youth Europeans and traveled around Europe, then I wore the jersey of my city of Venice, winning a national title, and then I continued my career by changing various Italian teams by moving to Trieste and Cagliari. Unfortunately women’s sport is not very popular and does not have many sponsors so I had to stop. It was a very painful choice because it was a part of me and of my daily life, I loved it as madly as fashion.

You live in Italy, one of the most one of the most fashionable countries. How much it helps you in your carrer?

I have always been proud to be Italian because we can eat pasta every day, each season is distinct from one another in terms of climate, food, lifestyle and activities, then you celebrate your birthday twice because it is our tradition to celebrate the saint’s name . Each day has a name of the saint, you celebrate it as if it were your birthday, known as “good name day”. Then it’s nice to see people from all over the world spending their money to buy clothes from Italian brands like Gucci, Armani or Prada. Being Italian has helped me a lot in my career. I remember when I started sharing my photos of the shootings I made in Venice on my social channels, they go viral all over the world and gain thousands of followers everyone was enchanted by the beauty and the Italian charm. Then I received many proposals from Fashion Photographers who came on vacation to Venice asking me to shoot around the city, so the first Italian luxury brands noticed me.

Tell us something about womanpowerblog?

WomanPower.it was born from an idea developed over the years. Woman Power was born to give inspiration and motivation to pursue your dreams, studying and working hard with good hard work to make them come true, without compromising in a society where there are not the same gender opportunities. WomanPower.it is a Fashion blog that declines new trends for every physical diversity, to enhance every physical structure of every woman: Curvy, Petite, Skinny & Tall.

What gave you the idea of creating a blog?

My idea comes from my experience in the world of basketball which has been my real school of life. I was a victim of female bullying which caused me depression, anxiety and bulimia and after long years and dark times thanks to my family I got out of it. It is very important to denounce the phenomena of bullying and cyberbullying, we need to educate young people about inclusion. Even the messages coming from the fashion world do not help to fight certain forms of bullying. Fashion must be inclusive because many people who have diversities of various kinds (physical, religious, ethnic, sexual orientation or with disabilities) find a big obstacle in Fashion. In this case, fashion becomes divisive, it helps to create barriers, especially among the youngest, between those who can follow it and those who cannot. I wanted to create something to sensitize fashion houses and stylists to work for an inclusive fashion that is more sensitive to the figure of the real woman, very different from the fake storytelling that has been presented to us for years. With my work, I fight for a woman who values her differences, which are the things that make us unique and authentic in a world that is still too standardized on standardized figures. This project was selected to be part of the “Diversity Voice Ambassador” program by Facebook & Instagram.
