Još kao devojčica, Sheila i njena porodica izbegli su iz Irana i nastanili se u  kanadskom Montrealu. Ideja velikodušnosti, saosećanja i skromnosti su uvek bile ključne vrednosti njene porodice, što je talentovanu Sheilu navelo da se fokusira na projekte koji ciljaju na promene u društvu i osnaživanje žena.

Sheila je diplomirani hemičar, sa završenim postdiplomskim studijama farmacije, ali je takođe diplomirala Umetnost u Merchandise Marketingu na ,,The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising” u Los Anđelesu. Počela je da radi u farmaceutskoj industriji, ali  je kroz vreme, odlučila da promeni životni put i da karijeru fokusira na filmsku industriju, u kojoj već ima nekoliko zapaženih ostvarenja.

Njena glumačka karijera započela je kada je dobila ulogu FBI agenta, u veoma usešnoj franšizi filma ,,Saw V“. Među njenim brojnim ulogama na filmu i u televizijskim serijama izdvajaju se ,,Rambo: Last Blood“, ,,Rendel“, pojavljivala se takođe u desetodelnoj seriji ,,Professionals“, u kojoj glavne uloge igraju Brandan Fraser i Tom Welling, a koja se prikazivala na kanalu CW i u Evropi.

Nedavno je dobila ulogu Mundy novom nastavku ,,The Expendables 4”. Njen lik je u odličnom glumačkom društvu koje uključuje holivudske A-listere poput Sylvester Stallonea, Megan Fox, Andy Garcia i Jasona Stathama. Film je sniman u Velikoj Britaniji, Grčkoj i Bugarskoj, krajem 2021.

Sheila je napravila i korak dalje u filmskoj industriji oprobavši se u ulozi producenta. ,,Dobar film ima moć da dotake srca i promeni stanje svesti. Nosi pouku i može biti koriščen kao sredstvo edukacije“. kaže Sheila.

Bila je izvršni producent filma ,,Deltopia“, koji je trenutno u postprodukciji. Film je inspirisan stvarnim događajima koji se tiču problema policijske brutalnosti. Sheila izražava svoja interesovanja unoseći sopstvene vrednosti i njenu humanitarnu misiju u projekte koje bila.

U saradnji sa White Ribbon USA, porducirala je kratki film pod nazivom „Ponovno ujedinjeni“, čiji je cilj da se zalaže za zakonodavnu promenu i reformu Zakon Haške konvencije o građanskim aspektima međunarodne otmice dece u SAD i globalno. Kroz ovaj kratki film, ona želi da ustupi galas svim ženama, imigrantima i izbeglicama koje su žrtve porodičnog nasilja i koji traže azil u SAD-u kako bi zaštitili i sebe i decu od zlostavljača kojima je pravo oduzimanja dece zagarantovano Haškom konvencijom. Sheila kaže: ,,Izmena o nasilje u porodici nije ozbiljan rizik za Hašku konvenciji tako da jedna rečenica može promeniti celu istoriju za izbeglice koje traže azil u okviru programa zaštite od nasilja u porodici u SAD i oko sveta.“

Sheila trenutno radi na produkciji nekoliko filmova koji će biti snimani u Evropi. Nakon uspešnoog sastanka sa jednim srpskim studiom u Beogradu, ona planira da preseli snimanje nekoliko internacionalnih filmskih projekata u Srbiju.

Sheila veruje da su filmovi efektivan medijum za edukaciju ljudi i naglašavanje ključnih međunarodnih problema. Ona smatra da je zastupanje prava za promene u društvu kroz film veoma efektivno. ,,Poruka društvene promene kroz narativ filma daje mu mnogo veću instancu“.

“It’s important that we use our platform and voice to not only be the change but demand the change we want to see in the world.” These are the powerful words of Sheila Shah, an international actress, producer, advocate, and humanitarian. When she was a little girl, Sheila and her family fled from their country Iran and landed in Montreal, Canada as refugees. The idea of giving, compassion, and modesty have always been the core values of her family, which brought the talented Sheila to mainly focus on projects aiming at social change and women empowerment. Sheila has a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, a Post Graduate Degree in Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs, and she also graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree in Merchandise Marketing from The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. Sheila started working in the pharmaceutical industry but eventually, she decided to change her path and focus on her career in the entertainment business, which includes a few notable mentions. Sheila’s acting career started when she landed her first role as an FBI agent in the highly successful franchise “Saw V”. Among her multiple roles in films and TV shows such as “Rambo: Last Blood”, “Rendel”, she also appears in a recurring role in the ten-part series “PROFESSIONALS” starring Brendan Fraser and Tom Welling which aired on CW and Europe.

She recently landed the role of Mundy in the upcoming movie “The Expendables 4.” Her character is in great company, the cast in fact, also includes A-listers such as Sylvester Stallone, Megan Fox, Andy Garcia, and Jason Statham among others. The production took place between the UK, Greece, and Bulgaria at the end of 2021. Sheila has taken a step further in the entertainment business by becoming also a producer. “A good film has the power to change hearts and minds. It’s educational and can be used as an educational tool,” she says.

Sheila was an executive producer for the film “Deltopia” which is now in post-production. The movie is inspired by true events that deal with the problem of police brutality. Sheila shows her interest by bringing her values and her humanitarian mission into the projects she chooses.

In collaboration with White Ribbon USA, she has also produced an advocacy short film called “Reunited,” which aims to advocate for a legislative change and reform the Hague Convention Law on the civil aspects of International Child Abduction in the US and globally. Through this short advocacy film, she wants to give voice to all the women, immigrants, and refugees who are victims of domestic violence and who seek asylum in the US to protect themselves and their kids from their abusers who can take their children away under the Hague Convention. Sheila Says: “Domestic violence is not a grave risk in the Hauge Convention so one sentence can change the whole history for refugees who seek asylum under domestic violence protection programs in the US and around the world.”

Sheila is currently working on producing a few films that will be shot in Europe. After her successful meeting with a Serbian studio in Belgrade, she is planning to bring international projects to be filmed in Serbia. Sheila believes films are an effective medium to highlight and educate people on various international issues. She thinks that the power of Advocacy through film for social change is very effective. “A message of social change into the narrative of a film makes it held at a much higher standard.”
